Meditation Started in Online

A group of meditators have been sharing their time with one another once a week.
Give time to Meditation

The group was started on the website MeetUp and has count of online members and attracts about a dozen meditators everyday morning and night.

I was a product of the ’60s and took a word religion class while attending the University of Illinois. I then studied Hinduism and Buddhism and was really drawn to these ways of looking at the world.

Outside of class, I heard about online meditation and started practicing on my own with some of my freinds

“I was so busy I got away from it but when I had a real crisis about four years ago, I started trying to get into it on my own,” Once “I went to Canada and practiced there and when I came back to the area, I realized there was no place to practice and thought starting a club would be a good way to stay with it.”

Most meditators have the most difficult time just getting started with the practice.Thats I feel it like challenges while doing meditation.

It’s important not to judge yourself when you’re meditating, If you’re having a hard time getting into it, it’s okay, just come back to your breath and try to let go of whatever is happening on the outside. It’s a time to clear your mind and focus on what is happening inwardly.

I got involved in meditation about 20 years ago when I was going through some challenges I was having difficulty coping with and came across meditation when I was exploring coping options,

Mindful meditation, the type the group focuses on is practiced primarily in silence.

Meditation is really all about thinking about the present and only the present,”. “We have so many thoughts and worries about what we did in the past and what will happen in the future, but in meditation, it’s important to live in the present and acknowledging the present in silence is a nice component.

One of the most important aspects of meditation is releasing tension in the body and fully relaxing. You can acknowledge the pain that you have and let it go,” he said. “If you’re busy concerning yourself with pain, it will allow your body to be a distraction to your mind. The results of meditation vary from person to person . meditation can be a good pain reliever.I work in the health care field and started leading classes before I was certified to help those with chronic pain and I think the combination of meditation and western medicine can be truly helpful for people. Then again I said that 15 minute meditation session fills him with energy and he equates to a three-hour nap.

The group and sessions are free, donations are welcomed but not required. Before each session, there is a 30-minute tea and socializing opportunity.

its like every one can start online meditation in present days .

Events and problems in life they used to get very anxious about do not make them as stressed out anymore, and they find it easier to deal with even big problems or major life changes. Whenever you find yourself in a stressful situation or whenever you are going through life changes or facing big challenges, it could be helpful to sit down to meditate.

Tips for Guided Meditation

How to start with your meditation practice ???

Start by joining some meditation class or by buying a CD on guided meditation. Once you become familiar with the guided meditation technique on the CD or in the class you can try it at home every day. Those who have practiced for years often say that it is best to meditate at the same time every day and many do it twice a day: in the morning and in the afternoon or evening. The easiest way to do a meditation daily is to do it as soon as you get up so that you do not have time to find excuses or distractions. For some people the evening is an easier time. If you decide to keep 20 minutes each day for a meditation and do it at the same time every day, you will soon get into the habit and will be able to enjoy the benefits of being the meditator.

Guided meditations can also work wonders in helping you achieve inner peace. It clears your mind of unwanted thoughts and fills it with vivid visual imagery that can affect your physical and mental health in a positive way. Some meditations that use symbolic imagery will also allow you to connect with the more abstract levels of your mind, which encourages spiritual advancement and profound healing breakthroughs. All of these amazing benefits make guided meditations more than just a great way to de-stress. They are also amazing tools that you can effortlessly use to enhance your overall quality of life.

Meditate Techniques: Guide meditation

In this complete guide to you will learn everything you need to know about meditation including: what meditation is, where it came from, benefits to meditating, there are different types of meditation techniques, how to meditate, how to create a meditation space, and some tips and tricks to successful meditation.

WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Meditation is the practice in which one goes beyond the conscious thinking mind and enters a state of deep relaxation and awareness.  While meditation is prominent in many regions, it is actively practiced both inside and outside of religious context.

HISTORY OF MEDITATION
Prehistoric. The word “meditate” is derived from the latin root ”meditatum” which means to ponder.  Meditative practices are rooted in religious context where ancient civilizations used repetitive, rhythmic chants, and offerings to appease their respective gods.  In moderns times we call these chants mantras.  Mantras are still used in several meditation techniques.

Antiquity.  Some of the earliest written records recognize the meditation practices steeped in the Hindu traditions of Vedantism in 1,500 BC.  Slowly other forms of meditation came to light such as in the Buddhist culture of India and the Taoist culture of China in later centuries.  The exact origins of any type of meditation is up for debate although many believe that meditation began in Eastern Asia and was introduced to other cultures via the Silk Road.

Middle Ages.  Japanese Buddhism continued to grow from the introduction of Chinese Buddhism.  This attributed to the growth of Japanese Zen.  Jewish meditation was also growing and changing during this time period to include the Hasidic variations and the Kabbalistic practices.  The Byzantine era lead to Eastern Christian meditative practice of repeating a specific mantra while in one pose.  Western Christian meditation contradicts this because it involves neither a specific mantra nor pose.

Modern Times.  Buddhism became well known and accepted in western cultures while yoga schools popped-up all over.  Instead of focusing on religion, meditation is known for relaxation, stress reduction, and self-actualization.

Power of Meditation

“In meditation, healing can happen. When the mind is calm, alert and totally contented, then it is like a laser beam – it is very powerful and healing can happen.” - Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Only a healthy bud can blossom. In the same way, only a healthy being can succeed.

So,what is it to be healthy?

To attain a perfect state of health, one has to remain mentally calm, steady and emotionally stable. ‘Swasthya’ means health. It also means being in one's self. Swasthya or health is not just confined to the body and the mind but it is also connected with the consciousness. The clearer the consciousness is, the more well-being is gained.

Meditation increases prana (life energy)
Prana (the vital life energy) is the very basis of health and well being, for both body and mind. You can gain prana through meditation. When your body is alive with more prana, you feel alert, energetic, and full of good humor. A lack of prana results in lethargy, dullness and poor enthusiasm.

Dealing with illness - through meditation
It is said that the root of an illness is in the mind/consciousness. So, by attending to the mind, clearing it of any disturbances, the recovery speeds up. Illnesses can develop from:

Violation of natural law: such as over-eating
Imposed by nature: such as common cold, an epidemic
Release of past impressions or Karma
Nature itself provides a cure for these illnesses. Health and illness are a part of physical nature. By practicing meditation, the stresses, worries, anxieties drop off and gives rise to a positive state of mind, which has a positive impact on the physical body, brain and nervous system, then illnesses change.

Health and illness are a part of physical nature. You should not worry too much about it. When you worry about illness, you are giving more power to the illness. You are a combination of health and illness. When you keep that in mind and have a positive state of mind, then illnesses change.

Heal the mind – through meditation
Meditation prevents stresses from entering the body system and also releases accumulated stress.Health, happiness and a positive state of Being wells up
The practice of meditation brings a coolness to the brain, it’s like servicing the whole body-mind complex
Clear emotional pollution - with meditation
A time may come in the future, when people will be fined for being depressed, because they are creating emotional pollution! The words that you hear from people around you, affect your state of mind. They either give you peace and joy, or create disturbance (such as jealously, anger, frustration or sadness). You’re affected because the mind is not in its Self; it is not centered. Meditation is the key to control 'emotional pollution'.

Blossom with meditation
Meditation can bring about a spiritual transformation. As you learn more about life, the mystery of the whole Creation unfolds. Then the questions that arise in the mind are - What is the meaning of Life? What is its purpose? What is this world, what is love, what is knowledge...?

Once these questions arise in you, know that you are very fortunate. These questions need to be understood; you cannot find the answers in books. You have to live through them and witness the transformation. That is perfect health; you are transformed from within. And the bud becomes a totally blossomed flower.

Heal the world through meditation
Meditation purifies the environment. Meditation and Sudarshan Kriya have transformed aggression and violence in people - to compassion, love and care. For example, notice how you feel when you enter a room where someone is really angry ? It leaves you feeling the same!

Similarly, when there is a harmonious or a happy activity, you feel good. You may wonder why. Feelings are not isolated in one's body - they are all around. It is in the whole environment, because the mind is subtler than the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, ether). If there is a fire somewhere, the heat is not just in the fire, it is also radiating throughout the place.

Note: If you are unhappy or depressed, you are not the only one who is feeling it; you are spreading it to the whole environment.

In the current global situation of conflicts and disease, it's important to meditates a little every day. Through meditation, you can nullify the negative vibrations in the environment, thereby creating a more harmonious environment.

The Healing Breath and Meditation
A jewel in The Art of Living is the healing breath, known as the Sudarshan Kriya.

This unique breathing practice is a potent energizer:

Every cell becomes fully oxygenated and flooded with new life
It flushes out negative emotions from the body
It releases tensions, frustrations and anger
It clears anxiety, depression and lethargy
It gives relief to both the mind and body
